When edges grew sharp

you found ways to round the corners

When my heart braced itself,
guarded and taut only moving with old echoes,
you didn’t let go.
You only whispered,
“Let me hold the space
until you are ready...

When the love you gave
took time to settle into my bones,
you didn’t withdraw.
You whispered,
“I’ll wait for you to feel"

When the clouds stayed longer
you didn’t chase them away.
You turned me gently inward—
“Go inside…"

You were my buffer—
a presence between
the chaos and the calm.
A soft filter
in a contrasting world

You came

to show me

That strength was never in the armor.
It lived in the stillness,
the willingness to look into a different mirror

I wasn’t built just to weather the storm.
I was built to thrive.

And
here I am,
still drawn to your steadiness,
your presence.

You are my buffer.
You shielded just enough
so I could finally
hear
the voice
within.
